I CURRENTLY HAVE AVAILABILITY AND AM TAKING NEW CLIENTS ~ March 2023

Fees

Appointments are $210 for 55-60 minutes per session.
The APS (Australian Psychological Society) National Schedule of Recommended Fees 2022-2023 has the standard 46 to 60-minute consultation fee at $280, so your out-of-pocket cost is well below the recommended fee.

If you are eligible to get a MHCP (Mental Health Care Plan) referral from your GP, your out-of-pocket cost will be approximately $120. (see below for more details).

A GP referral is not compulsory to see me, only to receive the Medicare rebate you are eligible for.

How many sessions will I need?

It is difficult to say exactly how many sessions you will need, however good work can be done in 4-6 sessions. These can be spaced out weekly, fortnightly or monthly, whatever we both decide works best for you. Some people return for a ‘tune up’ every 6 months or so, once the initial work is done.

You may be able to receive a refund or rebate (please see below) as claims can be made for registered psychologists through Medicare or your health fund if you are eligible.

Fees can be paid by cash, eftpos or credit card (Visa and Mastercard only).

Health Fund Rebates

If you belong to a private health fund, you may be able to claim a rebate for your appointments.

Call your health fund to determine your level of extras cover and whether they cover 'psychological visits'. The rebate amount varies between health funds.

If you are entitled to a rebate, you will be able to claim that directly when you attend your appointment through our HICAPS machine.

Medicare Rebates

Under the Medicare-funded Mental Health Care Plan you can receive a $89.65 rebate per session for up to 6 -10 sessions over a calendar year with an appropriate referral from your GP.

You will need to bring this referral letter and assessment to your first session if you wish to claim the rebate.

You will need to pay in full at the time of - or prior to for Telehealth - your appointment and claim your rebate through Medicare. The easiest way to claim your rebate is through the Medicare app which you can download to your smartphone/device.
Simply photograph your receipt (containing all relevant details), upload it to the app and the rebate is processed within 24-28 hours.

Appointments and Cancellations

Bookings are essential and typically last 55 minutes.
Please give as much notice where possible to cancel or reschedule your appointment, so that it can be offered to others in need on the waiting list.

The standard cancellation policy is as follows:

  • Cancellations within 0 - 24 hours notice: $195 full fee is payable

Cancellations over 24 - 48 hours notice: $50 practice admin fee payable

  • Cancellations over 48 hours notice: no cancellation fee

You do not need a GP referral to make an appointment with me, but if you want to claim a rebate through Medicare you will need a GP assessment & referral and a Mental Health Care Plan.
